Popular Post jerry1939 Posted April 17, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted April 17, 2018 My Faith tells me not to brag, and never really cared for the forum term "Bragging Rights". (That's just my own personal hang up). That's the reason for posting a finished piece here. Don't ask for the pattern. A number of years ago I made this. https://cherrytreetoys.com/the-york-minster-cathedral/ The piece pictured is much smaller and I took bits & pieces of the purchased pattern and arranged them around. Luan & BB ply. I finish everything with spray on Clear. Learned to photograph before the Clear, as it reflects like crazy. After the picture, I sprayed it. The luan took on a really "old" look and I got the appearance I wanted. jerry meflick, RabidAlien, Dan and 8 others 11 Quote

new2woodwrk Posted April 17, 2018 Report Posted April 17, 2018 Nice piece - thanks for sharing - I agree about the "bragging rights" - not a fan of that moniker either. I think that forum should just be called "Projects" WayneMahler and GrampaJim 2 Quote
Scrappile Posted April 17, 2018 Report Posted April 17, 2018 (edited) Very nice. Just be cause a person shows something in "Bragging Rights" doesn't mean that person is bragging. It just means they have the right to, should they choose...... Edited April 17, 2018 by Scrappile Quote

kmmcrafts Posted April 18, 2018 Report Posted April 18, 2018 Awesome work Jerry!! I think I have this pattern and several others from a special offer they did with like 1900 patterns collection disc.... I've never made any of these type of (what I like to call WOW ) clocks. My father made a big old ship clock.. he found a pattern in a magazine or book that somewhat resembled the Navy ship he was on in WWII.. He modified the pattern a great deal to make it look like the ship he was on.. It was a WOW to everyone that seen it... so that is where I get the term Wow clock, LOL Think the ship clock he made was about 2.5 - 3 foot long.. Unfortunately when he passed.. my step brothers ended up with the clocks, his pattern books and magazines, and his woodworking tools.. Wish I had at least a picture of the clock.. but I never did get one.. meflick 1 Quote
Chiloquinruss Posted April 18, 2018 Report Posted April 18, 2018 The majority of my projects are models of structures. If I had done that fantastic of a job on that structure, I would brag about it! Well done! Russ amazingkevin 1 Quote
