justdraftn Posted May 29, 2018 Report Posted May 29, 2018 Haven't had much time for scrolling. Summer. Garden. Bike riding. ....and greenhouse building. Really having fun w/this......after the dirt and concrete work was done. Included a few....along the way pics. It is moving along nicely. I want to surprise my wife when it is done with a scroll on the door....."All things grow with love." Anyone know where I can find a good pattern for this? Thanks! justdraftn Posted May 30, 2018 Author Report Posted May 30, 2018 Thanks! It has really been fun. I'll post pics as I go along. The patterns look great. I am going to see if I can incorporate the first Bobscroll words/font into Birchbark's flower pot. WayneMahler 1 Quote
justdraftn Posted June 1, 2018 Author Report Posted June 1, 2018 Moving along. Insulation is just about done. South knee wall paneled w/some 1/4" plywood I got for scrolling. It will not be seen once the plant beds are in. Opening window came together very well. Once I figure trim, it will be installed w/stop and foam weather stripping. Time to get busy. WayneMahler Posted June 1, 2018 Report Posted June 1, 2018 Looking good. Lots of hard work in there well done. justdraftn 1 Quote
justdraftn Posted June 2, 2018 Author Report Posted June 2, 2018 Really a fun day. Finished the insulation and visqueen. A year ago, on June 8, we got hit w/an amazing hail storm. We got a new roof on the house and garage.....a real blessing. As I always do, kept some of the scraps.....just incase I might need them. The garage is a flat roof. Did not have enough of either the peel/stick or shingles to do the whole roof. My wife said, "Can't you use both?" Well there's an out of the box idea. Yes I can. Had just enough of both to do the job. ......and if I do say so, it is perfect. We both love the way it came out. It fits the eclecticism of this greenhouse perfectly. Polycarb is cut and ready to install. multitom, Scrolling Steve, bobscroll and 2 others 5 Quote
justdraftn Posted June 3, 2018 Author Report Posted June 3, 2018 Today was sort of like pay day. ......when you get a reward for hard work. I got paid very well today. ......I worked for it, though. Polycarb is up. It was a challenge. If you every work w/this.....when it comes time to set it, be prepared to lay your tools down.....walk away for a few...... So the hype on this polycarb is it defuses the light. When I was standing inside when there was direct sunlight, 80F ......did not feel the heat on my skin like it was in direct sunlight. But, it does get warm in there in a hurry. Could not be more pleased. bobscroll, frankorona and WayneMahler 3 Quote
justdraftn Posted June 4, 2018 Author Report Posted June 4, 2018 Fun w/fonts. What do you think? bobscroll, frankorona, Birchbark and 2 others 5 Quote
justdraftn Posted June 4, 2018 Author Report Posted June 4, 2018 Green house update. So, what to cover the walls inside with? We went all over the board. Masonite...no it will rot.Plywood. ....yea, w/water sealer. ....but too bland. What about cedar? Started checking around and it is expensive. Then I started looking at cedar at the HD. Fencing. Ok, still tooexpensive and kind of over kill.....unless I cut it in half. Double your pleasure, double your fun.....for half the cost.I resawed 3.5" cedar fence pickets on the band saw.Custom 1/4" cedar paneling. It looks great. Will last long past me. justdraftn Posted June 9, 2018 Author Report Posted June 9, 2018 Finished the east/west outside walls. All the exposed wood is cedar. All will get coat of water sealer. I like all the contrasting colors of the cedar. Almost weather tight. Got started on the north wall but ran out of dry shingles. Close to being done w/the structure. multitom, Phantom Scroller, meflick and 1 other 4 Quote
justdraftn Posted June 11, 2018 Author Report Posted June 11, 2018 Had the hired hand....AKA-the better half, put the water seal on the cedar. Really made it pop. multitom, Phantom Scroller and bobscroll 3 Quote

justdraftn Posted June 17, 2018 Author Report Posted June 17, 2018 Structurally, my project is complete. Everything is cedar, for the most part and water sealed. The prefab, toy green house did not come w/the deck option......mine did. Will make agreat place for my sister's strawberry pot....and when the freeze comes, will take it insidefor the winter. Need to build some plant boxes and set the fan. Window stop, latch andweather stripping. Pleanty of time for that before the burn season is upon us.My neighbor said I have created functional art. I think I have.Very satisfied w/the effort. It will provide years of fun playing w/it. Phantom Scroller, ChelCass, bobscroll and 2 others 5 Quote

justdraftn Posted September 11, 2018 Author Report Posted September 11, 2018 (edited) Just had a moment to stop in and see what's happening. I have had no time in my basement shop. Summer. Outside. Garden / projects / cycling. Had to rebuild the deck going into the back yard. 30yrs. It was time. Got that done. Then better half wants to make She Shed out of shed on the back of the garage. Over 35yrs on it. It was time. Almost done w/it. Had an amazing garden. Produced a boat load of produce. A lot of squash to the freezer, to the neighbors. Great crop of tomatoes. I have my All things grow w/love ready to cut...just need some time. Still need to get boxes built inside the green house and get plants going for this winter. Garden is for the most part, done. One more picking of tomatoes and jalapenos. Fresh salsa. Really looking forward to fall cycling. Missed it last year due to accident. I'll see you on the road. You are a busy Bee lol, Great job you are doing, Thank you for the photo's Bob I am loving this part time retirement/work gig. It has been a really fun summer. Closing in on a 3K mile year on the bike. I finished my first kitty cat band saw box and gave it to my friends at work for their wedding present. As soon as they turn off my ditch water I will be inside for sure. My next SS project is to finish the green house cutting. Finally had some time to peruse the bragging rights thread. So much good stuff going on here. So many ideas.... so little time. But I'm going to have a go at it. I'll see you on the road. Edited October 9, 2018 by justdraftn word choice Quote
