Basket Patterns

On a basket pattern, is each ring slightly thinner then the previous ring?  Thinner not as in the thickness of the wood but not as wide and the preceding outer ring?  It looks like a basket pattern could be workable in a CAD type drafting program.

Typically all of the rings are the same width.  Often 1/4" or 3/8"

I agree with katie that normally the rings are all the same width.
There is a program called Polydraw which I believe was created by Dave Ess
that is specifically made for bowls or baskets.

I would assume that since you are familiar with CAD, you can produce patterns but, it may be
more time consuming.

Yikes!  I never knew this was out there.  It seems to have a bit of learning curve but it does have multiple tutorials.  Thanks!
