Vector01 Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Well...It was a bust Lot of people but no sales Their was a girl painting kids faces at $5.00 a whack she made out like a bandit. The woman next to my wife was selling pieces of old wood 16"X 8" painted gray with stenciled sayings like "Welcome", "God bless our home", etc. for $10.00 dollars each. No other artwork on the signs just stenciled. She was selling quite a bit. Unbelievable!!! Oh well...There's always Craig's List Quote

Clayton717 Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 Sorry you didn't make a sale. I've been there before. Now I have pretty much quit doing shows and sell by word of mouth. and have sold more. Quote
wombatie Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 I had the same experience. All I sold were 6 name ornaments, but luckly those 6 netted me $300 in sname by Christmas last year. But I will admit I was really bored to death with names by then. Everyone seemed to want what I didn't have or a different colour or there portraits done but never got their photos to me. It was really depressing. So I stick to word of mouth now. Marg Quote
toolbeltman Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Were you at the big E in Mass Art?...sorry to hear that it was a bust! Quote
Vector01 Posted October 26, 2010 Author Report Posted October 26, 2010 Hey Kev...Nada! Ain't gonna happen again. Did get rid of a lot of my business cards though Most people asked my wife If I could do portraits of people, pets, etc. Duhhh...Most of my pieces were portraits! Along with the portraits I had mini-clocks, letter openers, keychains, crosses on neck chains, and some 5X7" scrolled plaques. Hey Toolbeltman...No. This was our yearly local "Pumpkin Fair" in town. They even brought people in by train from Providence, RI and Boston, MA. I made more money at my yard sale. Quote
