Quick Question on Square

I have a outdoor show next month, and I have a square reader, can I use it outdoors with no internet, I always use it at indoor shows where I can connect.  Thanks  edward

If you are using it with your smart phone, it will work on your cell service. If you are using a tablet that does not work with cell service, you need a hotspot. Most smart phones can be set as a hotspot. Check with your cell service. 

I use an ipad with a dedicated hot spot. I like using my full size iPad as it is easier to see and use.

I just use my smarter-than-me phone. Whether I use the swipe or the chip reader it works great. Just remember to keep the things upgraded.

As I understand it, Square will work to record sales in local storage, then when you connect via cell or WiFi the sales will be recorded in your account at the Square website. Pretty sure I have that correct. The risk is taking a credit card payment and not having it verified. My advice is to Insist on cash only if you are without any internet connection.

I use this (free) when I need to contact one or more of my laptops and have not connection  - pdanet - very easy to install (relatively)
