Vector01 Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Always amazed on the details you get with the spiral blades. Clean and clear cuts. Great job Quote
amazingkevin Posted November 9, 2010 Author Report Posted November 9, 2010 Thank you ART for the kind words. Who would have thought that i would fall in love with the spirals that i hated with a passion. You acually become part of the machine.I'm amazed how the slightest nudge moves the blade where you want it to go.Lot's of times i hold with both hands on one side of the project to steer it ,all depends.cutting a straight line forwards or backwards is fun.The time you spent spining ,spining ,spining the project with flat blades is history now.Super long cuts,or small jobs ,like ornaments i'll still use flat blades. harleyguy Posted August 20, 2012 Report Posted August 20, 2012 Great work. I too cut with spiral blades as I do alot of fish work. What blades do you use? I have tried both 41 and 46 with so so success. Any help would be appreciated. Most of my work is stack cut 1/4 sandply. Quote

keefie Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 Well I don't know what's changed, but I can see the pics now, they're great, I still don't know how you manage to cut them so fast, but you doing a great job. I still don't like spirals, and I've never managed to cope with them, but it's a part of scrolling I must learn so I've ordered some FD new spirals from Mikes workshop to practice with. Keefie. Quote
amazingkevin Posted July 29, 2013 Author Report Posted July 29, 2013 On the very thin spirals be very gentel tightening them .the will break quick with to much tightness so just snug is fine ,and slow the speed down.you can really get some milage from the spirals but there's a lot of tria and error in learnin the ropes with them. They made a believer out of me. keefie 1 Quote
keefie Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 You say slow the speed down, but on a lot of other posts about spirals they say crank the speed up. I'm just starting a clock that must be cut with spirals, I'll try both ways and let you know which works for me. Keefie Quote
Ron Johnson Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 Nicely done Kevin. I have never used spirals. Interesting blade to maybe try. amazingkevin 1 Quote

browders Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 I'm impressed. I'm pretty sure that given 47 minutes and a spiral blade I would end up with a large pile of sawdust and three fewer fingers. Quote
amazingkevin Posted July 12, 2014 Author Report Posted July 12, 2014 Yeah try both ways keefie ,see what works for you Quote
amazingkevin Posted July 12, 2014 Author Report Posted July 12, 2014 Ron,don't be discouraged they are a joy once you understand them. Quote
