I have never "created" a pattern so I'm asking for some help here. My wife has had this Christmas decoration for many years and I have always liked it. I want to make some for friends and whoever else might like one. Here are two pics I just took. The overall dimensions are 15" long by 4 7/8" tall at the highest point. The depth doesn't matter but it is about an inch to an inch and a quarter. I'll make it out of 3/8" or 1/2" BB ply. Any help is greatly appreciated. At some point, I'm going to master Inkscape so I can do this myself. Also, if anybody on SSV wants to make this once we have the pattern, feel free. I have no idea where it originated so trying to give the artist some recognition is sort of impossible.

How about setting it on a scanner?

Tom

I tried that but it's too wide and too thick to get a decent scan. I imported it into Inkscape, I did a path bit map trace but I have no idea what to do next. The bit map is so populated with nodes, it's unuseable. At least for me who knows nothing. I want to make this but I don't know what I'm doing. Hoping somebody will see this and help.
