I enlarged the pattern by 15% to make the basket just under 6" square and 2 1/2" high. The sides are 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood and the top and bottom are Mahogany. I used FD Polar #5 blades as I stack cut 4 pieces. Finished with spray Shellac. Getting each layer lined up when gluing was the hardest part. JTTHECLOCKMAN Posted March 20, 2019 Report Share Posted March 20, 2019 Came out very nice. Very easy to get aligned and keep aligned if you make a jig. All it would be is 2 pieces of wood at a 90 degrees to each other. Now lay your pieces in the corner and they should all line up if you cutting is good. I cut my top and bottom pieces out of the same BB ply that the weave was cut from. I'll probably just keep them natural and rattlecan varnish them, and stain the top and bottom pieces a dark walnut.
