dgman Posted May 24, 2019 Report Posted May 24, 2019 Can you give us some more information such as brand and type of blades, model of saw and how much tension on blade? OCtoolguy 1 Quote

CATRK Posted May 25, 2019 Report Posted May 25, 2019 When I was using the Porter Cable I had to make sure the table was square to the blade. The gauge on the saw was never even close to accurate I needed to use a square. There was a lot of side to side torque and the blades would break easily, Also, if the screw was tighten too tight on the blade it would have a tendency to pinch the blades and break them. Since switching to the Seyco saw i haven't had those issues, so my guess would be the problem is in the clamp. Try tightening the screws only enough to just hold the blades. Wilson142 Posted May 25, 2019 Report Posted May 25, 2019 (edited) Are the blades breaking near the clamps of in the middle? Are you using flat blades or spiral blades. Edited May 25, 2019 by Wilson142 a thought OCtoolguy 1 Quote
RabidAlien Posted May 25, 2019 Report Posted May 25, 2019 I kept having issues with blades breaking and/or jumping out of the holder (Wen saw). I took out the set-screws (two per pinless blade adapter), and sanded the face on the threaded end of the screw flat so that when it engages with the blade, it engages the full face of the screw and not just the ridges left by the threads. I also replaced one of them with a thumbscrew to make things easier for me. Then I went back and watched some videos on setting the blade tension, and while I wasn't setting it *completely* wrong (I'll admit...I wasn't doing it strictly by the manual, either), I found a few little tricks that have helped for the Wen, including not having a single spiral blade pop out of the holder since.
