We are having our 2nd worst flu season on record.  The last one 2 years ago I was sick for 8 weeks, this time so far I am a week down.  I have a cough that a dog would be proud of.  I have pulled muscles in my back and stomach.😓  Oh and yes I did have my flu shot, same as I  do every year.  💉My scroll saw is a memory, I hope to see again one day in the near future. 🤔 I had to cancel lunch with a friend, dinner with a group of friends and my daughter and her partner had to take Terry out for his birthday dinner while I stayed at home.😥

I feel for you. I spent months in the same spot, coughing till I passed out. Chloraseptic, lived on it. I will help with the cough.

If your stomach is out of sorts, have some one buy fresh ginger, It comes looking like a hand, just break off a finger in the store, its expensive and goes a long way. Slice thin strips and put in a zip lock bag and freeze. Take a strip or two and brew in hot water for five minute, or brew with tea, or add a little sugar. Sip on it through the day. Moms  remedy, add honey and lemon and suppose to help with cough also. RJF

By the way, I had a flu type that had sinus drainage. It was triggering the cough and I didn't know it. Had to experiment with Musinx, and different allergy and decongestant pills to get the cough to stop. Had an ENT tell me of the drainage, but didn't solve it. Gave me a salt water spray that did nothing. We experimented with the above til we stopped it. I had to sleep upright. If your doing that you may have a similar flu.

Doctor said to take antihistamine to help dry up the mucus that drips at the back of the throat that makes you cough.  It works for some of the day and then I can get rid of the headache for a while.  Give it a go Merlin.

Hubby looked for some ginger last week but everyone must have the same thought, none to be had anywhere.  Thanks for the sugestions.

Marg, yes I already use an antihistamine (loratadine) for my hay fever every day all year.

But I tried my inhaler for my asthma and it seems to slow the cough down so have been doing that every couple hours through out the day.

But now I'm sneezing that hard that it near rips my throat out,

Keep warm Summers coming...

Ginger will be in the fresh veg/ fruit section, ask store manager, sometimes they move it around. Asian cooking is popular and it used alot in those recipes. May just call the stores before and ask if they have FRESH GINGER. We were in an isolated spot of HI for several years that my wife taught. Middle of the night I found some for my son. Should be around the town somewhere hopefully. RJF
