Falcon Posted September 19, 2019 Report Posted September 19, 2019 I live in Cloudy,Ok and besides Pine Cellular internet we only have satellite options for internet until I ran across https://gypsywireless.com/ $60 a month and truly unlimited internet. You have to buy a modem, (sim card that is AT&T compatible), and router if you want wireless. I was paying $120 a month for 100 gig from Pine. I purchased https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N5ASNTE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 a sim card https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AEVX5N4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and got router for $40 at walmart. My download speed with Pine was less than 4mps. Out here in the sticks my download speed without an antenna for modem is 10mps Just thought I would share what I learned. If you live where at&t coverage you can get this. Scrolling Steve, Fab4 and RabidAlien 2 1 Quote

If you live where at&t coverage you can get this. Look at your manual or possibly check https://www.techspot.com/guides/287-default-router-ip-addresses/ may take you to the router page. Change your router master password and put it somewhere. Once, the password is changed, its tough to ever change again without knowing the password. Any one can access alot once they access your router. This goes for you and anyone else on the board. ID theft and stealing from your accounts is very active. RJF Word of advise. Almost ALL routers have a master password of ADMIN. There are different brands with different addresses to access them. Edited September 22, 2019 by teachnlearn Falcon 1 Quote
kmmcrafts Posted September 22, 2019 Report Posted September 22, 2019 Thanks for sharing this, I'm going to look into it a bit.. I'm much like you.. live in the middle of nowhere and am at the whim of the local phone company for DSL.. the fastest speed I can get is 8mps ( I think ) at the cost of about $114 a month if i remember correct.. I don't have the faster plan as I'm cheap and the 4mps works for me for general web browsing and my website building and maintaining.. But is very slow during peak times.. I tend to just go work in the shop during those times..lol My biggest issue is reliability.. the internet is down ( lately ) a few times a month.. used to not be down times but I think they got more customers that the servers can keep up with these days, LOL.. anyway.. selling on Amazon with their strict rules..bout getting orders out the same day etc.. if the internet isn't working I have to use my phone to process the orders.. which is a pain in the back side to do.. But there is no other providers in the area so i'm sort of stuck.. unless i pay a huge bill for Verizon wireless.. Dish network sucked at a place we rented for a 4 week vacation a few years ago because i thought about trying their internet service but after that.. NOPE.. not doing that.. We get AT&T in the area but it's not super great.. Have a Verizon cell tower just down the road from me about 1/4 - 1/2 mile, LOL Quote
