teachnlearn Posted December 8, 2019 Report Posted December 8, 2019 (edited) Get the kids in the shop for the holiday. Maybe a few people can come up with scrollsaw patterns that are simple and done before kids get bored. Of course moms are going to make the call if the kids are old enough to be in the shop. May even be a few projects out there for a coping saw if someone doesn't like the idea of working on the electric. RJF Edited December 9, 2019 by teachnlearn RabidAlien 1 Quote
dgman Posted December 9, 2019 Report Posted December 9, 2019 (edited) It would be nice, but my kid is 25 and never had any interest in woodworking BTW, the video has nothing to do with kids in the shop. Edited December 9, 2019 by dgman Quote

Thanks, I usually copy and paste the link, somehow the video must have moved to the next. Don't know. Get your kid in the shop and build a full size wooden car. Or mail pieces of scroll work and tell him when he puts them all together he will have a mansion. RJF Edited December 12, 2019 by teachnlearn Quote
teachnlearn Posted December 10, 2019 Author Report Posted December 10, 2019 Haven't seen any suggestions for kids patterns. Looked up a few, one site has donations from Steve Good. I been trying to balance few cuts, with cuts that aren't too sharp. I think making the patterns large creates less tight curves. Might precut a few of the tight angles for the kids. Posted this for those that have a group of kids over for Xmas. Something for them to do and walk away with rather then stare at the TV or sit staring at the adults. jbrowning Posted December 11, 2019 Report Posted December 11, 2019 While I was at my craft show this past weekend. I played a video of me scrolling on my Hegner on a tablet. I heard several kids tell their parents they wanted to learn how to do that (pointing at the tablet). Hopefully this will happen for them. Jim Quote
