Chiloquinruss Posted December 22, 2019 Report Posted December 22, 2019 I am Da Train guy and use the majority of my woodworking time doing things for our live steam railroad park. The park is Train Mountain and at the park we do Rail Tours for our visiting guests. The issue has been what do we do when the weather won't permit us to do a Rail Tour. This winter we have been showing some of our videos but that is not really a tour. So we wrote a script and then made the first stab at a Virtual Rail Tour showing the highlights of what you might see during a 1 hour Rail Tour, but doing it in less than 10 minutes. As the tour continues I think you will see several of my woodworking projects. Please enjoy the ride and have a great Holiday. jerry1939 Posted December 22, 2019 Report Posted December 22, 2019 I've always liked trains. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THAT !!! jerry Quote
Karl S Posted December 22, 2019 Report Posted December 22, 2019 Thanks for the tour It looks liken a ton of fun. The little buildings are very well done. Great video. Quote
Chiloquinruss Posted December 23, 2019 Author Report Posted December 23, 2019 Thanks folks. You all do such great pieces that I feel like I cheat a lot because most of what I do is using my CNC machine. Having said that though I have learned so much from this forum and your combined skills. The buildings are fun and it's a challenge with some 150 plus of them, to make each one different and try and make it fit the scene or industry. Russ Quote
Rockytime Posted December 23, 2019 Report Posted December 23, 2019 Great video. Is the Heisler steam operated? What gauge is it? Quote
Chiloquinruss Posted December 23, 2019 Author Report Posted December 23, 2019 Yes the Heisler is a 7 1/2 inch gauge live steamer. Fire provided by propane. We don't allow coal or wood burners as we have 2200 acres of heavily wooded forest. Every three years we host an International meet. Due to our size we are able to have some 400 trains for the meet. The division of types of trains is pretty equal in thirds. One third steam, 1/3 gas powered, and 1/3 battery / electric. Thanks for asking. Russ Quote
ChelCass Posted December 23, 2019 Report Posted December 23, 2019 Wow, that was fun to watch. I have been to Klamath Falls and Craters Lake it is beautiful beyond words. Now I want to go to your train Park. Thank you for sharing this I really enjoyed watching it. It's easy to see all the work and attention to detail put into this Park. Thanks so much. Judy Quote
Chiloquinruss Posted December 25, 2019 Author Report Posted December 25, 2019 Had a slight dusting of snow last night so we are truly having a white Christmas. Hope you all have a great holiday. Russ Quote
