trackman Posted January 2, 2020 Report Posted January 2, 2020 Anybody heard from John? Sounds like his whole country is on fire. Quote
wombatie Posted January 3, 2020 Report Posted January 3, 2020 No not the whole country but quite a bit of the east coast. No fires that I know of where John lives and I'm fine too. Marg Be_O_Be, LarryEA, ChelCass and 4 others 7 Quote
meflick Posted January 3, 2020 Report Posted January 3, 2020 Good to hear you are fine where you are Marg and glad to hear John should be too. They have had the fires and the Kolas on our National news the past few days. Prayers said they end soon and you get some relieve from the heat. Quote

Marg Good to hear Marg...We watch it on the news here, must be Horrible for those in that area. Some only have the clothes they are wearing.House destroyed completely.Showing people on shore with fire on one side and water on the other.Navy was getting them out. On the news here just now, they showed a Magpie sitting on a fence and mimicking the sirens on the fire trucks etc. Edited January 3, 2020 by Gordster Quote
wombatie Posted January 4, 2020 Report Posted January 4, 2020 The worst of it all is, there have been 54 arrests for arson. Yes some of the fires were started by human beings. Marg Fab4 and meflick 1 1 Quote
Roberta Moreton Posted January 4, 2020 Report Posted January 4, 2020 I’m glad your whole country isn’t on fire. People started this? That’s crazy. Please stay safe. wombatie 1 Quote
wombatie Posted January 5, 2020 Report Posted January 5, 2020 John could be a volunteer firefighter, fighting fires in his surrounding area. Marg Quote
John B Posted January 5, 2020 Report Posted January 5, 2020 G'day all, Sorry for being missing in action. I have posed a reply I have just messaged to Delvaugn @trackman Thanks for thinking of us. Thanks for thinking of us. Our Aircon died on Xmas eve so we shot through to Perth on Boxing Day for a few nice cool days in an air con motel room then a few more with Dad in his nice cool home It was a week of over 40c in Kalgoorlie. Promised a new unit would be fitted on the 2nd, but unfortunately it is on the back of a truck stranded on the Nullarbor because the Eyre Highway has been closed for about week because of the fires. The West is practically cut of from the Eastern States at the moment. We are fine, just bloody hot. Cheers John. GPscroller, wombatie, meflick and 1 other 4 Quote
