alfsgrandson011 Posted January 3, 2020 Report Posted January 3, 2020 I have a 20" 508 MM Variable Delta Scroll Saw. It is the same as DeWalt just a paint job.I had another one and was pretty good in a DeWalt but went with Delta price. So I got it 3 years now and good but now the blades are braking they get bent then brake I have tried some things but still happening. I no I no I need a new saw but really after 400.00 dollars and what something else and so .... I am just wondering if someone else has the same problem and a fix or Hack ? Thanks ...John OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Denny Knappen Posted January 5, 2020 Report Posted January 5, 2020 Actually, you don’t need a new saw. It may be the set screws or the clamps. LarryEA, OCtoolguy and Rolf 2 1 Quote

Rolf Posted January 5, 2020 Report Posted January 5, 2020 (edited) I agree with Denny A picture of the blade would help us get a better idea about what is going on. Does the end of the blade look like a hockey stick? Edited January 5, 2020 by Rolf OCtoolguy 1 Quote

LarryEA Posted January 6, 2020 Report Posted January 6, 2020 I bet Danny is right. You need to flatten the ends of the set screws so they can hold the blade tightly. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Ron Johnson Posted January 7, 2020 Report Posted January 7, 2020 Adjust the set screw in your blade clamp or replace with a new one. Adust the set screw until the blade no longer bends. Set screws need to be replaced periodically. Careful not to over tighten the blade and you'll replace the set screws less often. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
