Really turned out nice, Frank.  Congratulations on getting it cut.  It is fragile.  When I cut it I stack cut 2 1/8" pieces of BB.  When I completed it I noticed the picture was not centered on the wood I used.  I needed to trim one side about 1/4".  Easy enough, just trim it on the table saw.  I started to saw one of the two, and the minute the wood touched the saw blade it blew up.  The biggest piece of the picture was about a 4" x 1/2" strip from on side.  I had shrapnel everywhere!!  I trimmed the remaining picture on the scroll saw......Lesson learned..

Thanks Paul.

I'm sorry about your mishap with the table saw and will avoid doing such a thing myself should the situation ever arise.

Frank It is just superb,  incredible work of "Art", with so much very small details.😎

I had saw some of your oldest piece like this one, but this one is on the TOP !

Questions: final total thicknees ? How or with what do you peel the glueed model off the wood, was probably a very delicate job!:o

PATIENCE  PATIENCE and DEXTERITY

Bravo Frank very impressed ! And  thank for all the tricks, I will try the Pegas #2/0 spiral blade. I already using them!

Thank you.

I usually apply Peel and Stick Clear Laminate (from Amazon) to the wood before I glue on the pattern.  Here is a photo of the label on the roll:

I find that ths is easy to remove and it leaves the surface underneath in good shape.

But, this time, I forgot to do so 😥 and It took me a very long time to remove the paper with the aid of Varsol, an Exacto Knife, and very fine sandpaper.

Hearst Café

I was born and spent my first few years in a small (about 5,000 population) town of Hearst in Northern Ontario (about 1,000 kilometres north-west of Toronto).  I still have an island with cabin nearby.  Most of the town's population is bilingual.  Many people from Hearst have retired to Ottawa and twice a year there is a well attended noon time gathering, called Hearst Café of Hearst ex-pats in Ottawa (as well as some, such as me, who travel to Ottawa).

I've framed the moose (using rough-sawn Cherry)  and am donating it to the group.  The Hearst Café Moose will be loaned to someone (for some achievement) at each meeting then will be returned at the next meeting.  Thus it will circulate.

I can't seem to get a good photo of the framed moose.  Here, is my best attempt:

a  big congratulations and a big task. You did a wonderful job, one hole at a time. i am hoping to tackle this one some time in the future also. I enjoyed seeing your progression along the way. That first hole was a whole lot of holes ago. Beautiful. How can you not have a real feeling of accomplishment after you finished this one.. what an accomplishment
