BroBri Posted February 20, 2020 Author Report Posted February 20, 2020 Hi Kevin, I'm getting better. I don't know what they gave me. I just picked up some anti biotics today. Still having a hard time breathing. That could be due to the bronchitis I had for 7 weeks. Pegas is due 2/26 OCtoolguy and kmmcrafts 2 Quote
Old Joe Posted March 3, 2020 Report Posted March 3, 2020 I am not going to go too deep into this, as folks have reviewed the differences pretty thoroughly. I am retired, and I scroll virtually every day, sometimes for many hours. I bought a new Pegas from Denny a few months ago and I will start with saying I couldn’t have asked for better service, advise, and in all honesty, he gave me the best overall price. I had never had any contact with him before the purchase. Now, as to the saw, I replaced my Dewalt DW788. I really wanted a second, more advanced saw. After extensive research, I decided on the Pegas, which has proven to be one of the best moves I have ever made when it comes to tools. The saw is quieter, with less vibration, easy tilting for inlay and relief cuts, and the quick release clamp is the cat’s meow. Mainly, I can scroll longer with less exhaustion. It’s just a dream to work with. OCtoolguy, BroBri, amazingkevin and 1 other 3 1 Quote

I have upgraded one with the Pegas clamp set and I will be doing the same to the other one as funds become available. I love this type saw mechanism for the type of cutting that I do. Others may prefer the Hegner/Hawk style of saw but after trying both of them, I still come back to the Pegas design. amazingkevin 1 Quote
scrollingforsanity Posted March 14, 2020 Report Posted March 14, 2020 I own a Seyco as well. Love the saw and the larger table. The tilting head not so much. Mine is really hard to tilt, you have to really bump the arm assembly to get it to move. I talked to Ray at Seyco and he said it will loosen up. It has not. I just use my EX for my tilting projects. I don't think Scrappile has this problem, I believe his tilts easily. The saw does require some assembly compared to the EX or Pegas. Not that hard though. I really like the table on the Seyco but you could make the table larger on most of the saws very easily . If I was buying another saw I would probably try the Pegas. I have the Pegas heads on both my saws and really like them. If you buy the Seyco or the Pegas I don't believe you could go wrong. OCtoolguy and Scrappile 2 Quote
Scrappile Posted March 14, 2020 Report Posted March 14, 2020 (edited) @scrollingforsanity, Grizz, I'm not sure on the how easily my head on my Seyco tilts,,,, I have never tried it. Someday I plan on it. Edited March 14, 2020 by Scrappile OCtoolguy 1 Quote
scrollingforsanity Posted March 15, 2020 Report Posted March 15, 2020 Well Paul I hope it is better than mine. I actually have to smack it pretty hard to move it. Afraid to loosen anything up as everything is supposed to be tight. Maybe if I worked it back and forth a few times it would loosen up. It's running so well I don't want to mess with it. Definitely a flaw and poor design in that area in my opinion. Drink a few shots of that Jameson and give yours a try. Lol. Is that roll of TP for sale Lol. Scrappile and OCtoolguy 2 Quote
Scrappile Posted March 15, 2020 Report Posted March 15, 2020 I will sell the TP,,, not the Jameson! But if you visited,,,, after todays blizzard,,, I may share a little... OCtoolguy and amazingkevin 1 1 Quote
scrollingforsanity Posted March 15, 2020 Report Posted March 15, 2020 probably take the whole bottle ( minus the shots you have already drank ) to get us in a fine mood. We wouldn't care about the TP. OCtoolguy 1 Quote

I'm out in my shop wearing a tee shirt and shorts. amazingkevin 1 Quote
scrollingforsanity Posted March 16, 2020 Report Posted March 16, 2020 I don't know if I would call it a blizzard Ray. But the wind is blowing like crazy, cold and spitting snow. It was 65 degrees a couple days ago and t-shirt weather. That's Oregon for you, if you don't like the weather wait a couple hours and it will change. I'm only about 40 minutes from Paul so we pretty much get the same weather. You may have to send us a picture of T-shirt and shorts weather. I would rather have a blizzard from DQ Lol OCtoolguy 1 Quote

I did put on a long sleeved flannel shirt to go walking but by the time we got back I was glad to take it off. Too warm. Anyway, now it's time to go out and do some sanding on my project. dgman 1 Quote
