Which one is better?

I havent decided which variant of pattern is better, so I decided to make two scroll saw projects with different finishing. I know that not everyone likes such projects (skulls, bones etc), but write which one looks better

I'm a sucker for contrast, but I still like the hooded skull better.  I think if I were to make this I would do the hood in different shade, and use the same stain for the third layer as you used in the solo skull
