don in brooklin on Posted July 12, 2020 Report Posted July 12, 2020 I have an issue with my printer in that if I don't change the document size to US letter it reduces the output slightly. I often forget and it is a pain. With the new version of Inkscape 1.0 it is easy. Open document. Change document properties to what you want, I did US letter and Display units to inches. Save template and give name. In my case US letter and set as default template. Every time I open Inkscape the right paper size starts up in inches. Very cool. PS: I got this tip from Nick Saporito at Logosbynick.com Tomanydogs, Dave Monk, OzarkSawdust and 1 other 3 1 Quote

In my case US letter and set as default template" I'm with you on it being a pain! Once in a while I'll forget until I print. Thanks Don Quote

Thanks Don As above set up document properties as you want. Then on file menu select "Save template" You then get a screen up to give it a name and make sure you check off the set as default. Each time you open new you get the correct document properties. Quote
OzarkSawdust Posted August 2, 2020 Report Posted August 2, 2020 OK...I don't have a "Save Template" on my file menu. Mine goes from Save A Copy to Import. Looking at yours line by line I have a "Import Clip Art" above Print that you don't have . Have I got an old version?? where do you see the version or how to update? Quote
OzarkSawdust Posted August 2, 2020 Report Posted August 2, 2020 I did some digging during the race. There is a new version, released this spring. So I downloaded it...and there was the "save Template" button! Not too confusing when you have the right program...LOL. Thanks for your help, I didn't even know I had an old program. Quote
