Dragonkort Posted August 31, 2020 Report Posted August 31, 2020 ok i read all the commets on the first message i posted and they were very wise ... connor only had to cut 2 stright lines and 2 curvey lines before we found a project for him to make. Iv taught people crafts before and at any age the person wants to MAKE SOMETHING!!!! lol now being a very creative boy he took the scrap pieces from his first line cutting lessons and turned it into a vicking ship...grandma cut out the sail because it was so small but he did everything else...Then we look through my big book of beggining and easy projects and since he wanted to put things together he pick a graffee....boy couldnt possably chose something i could spell!! lol i helped a little with putting it together....for one thing he wanted the legs to be able to move so i drilled the holes on all the pices and then i cut the dowels and we dryed fit it then we glued it together. the only problem we had was when of the legs fell off. lol somebody thought it was taking to long for the glue to dry!! lol so we put it back on and he left it alone until his dad came to pick him up lol he was so proud of his work!! and i of course was a very proud grandman lol his dad was very impressed lol and now as i promised conner here are the pictures of him and his projects meflick, danny, RabidAlien and 3 others 6 Quote

Dragonkort Posted August 31, 2020 Author Report Posted August 31, 2020 i'll pass on his great job from you karl. and yes it is good to see kids doing something besides electronic gadgets... I worry a bit about connor as all i ever see him doing is watching netfli kids on his tablet or playing games on it. hes spent time with me before and unless i give him something else to do hes on his tablet.... he messed up the settings on his table saterday and the boy was totly lost as to what to do....spike didnt fix it right away partly because it was nice to see him off the tablet. and partly because it took awhile to figure out what he was trying to tell us was wrong with it . lol once we figured out what he had done it was a very easy quick thing to fix. im glad there doing the on line schooling where he is but that also means less time off of the computer for him too. amazingkevin 1 Quote

Dragonkort Posted September 2, 2020 Author Report Posted September 2, 2020 lol well way back in the 70s when i was a pre teen and teeange the sexual revaloution was just starting and there was a defanet devide between what girls could do and what boys could do. Many times id ask my father to let me help him when he was working on the cars or when he was building things...i got this is mens work go help your mother!!! well i had no real desire to help my mother clean house lol i think iv mentioned this before but what the heak.... after i was older and living on my own that statement came back to bite him , how can you be 30 something and NOT KNOW HOW TO CHECK THE OIL in your car?? to which i replayed when ever i asked you to teach me how to work on cars YOU told me that was mens work and sent me to go help my mother lol he didnt believe me at first because he clearly remembered teaching me car matanice...mom had to tell him wrong daughter!!! he taught my little sister who is 10 years younger then me car matinece. lol and till his dying days we could not get the man to understand that when he was building stuff and needed help or tools he didnt have it was his DAUGHTER he needed to ask for help. lol so when in the middle of the project and he needed help the family would send him to the store and then call me while he was gone. lol Quote
