new2woodwrk Posted October 25, 2020 Report Posted October 25, 2020 After seeing @Iguanadon and @OzarkSawdust new display stands, I opted to update mine as well. I made a new one to test the design, so the pics are the new design - It's not finished yet, but I wanted to get this posted. I still need to add the runners and it needs to be sanded and painted, but it works incredibly well. The display stand is a 3 tier 20" W with 5" shelves, made out of recycled wood - pallets What I did was: Cut out the sides, mounted the sides to a 20" base with 1 1/4" hinges (2 on each side, fold side inward). Center hole drilled into each shelf level and glued in 13/64" dowels. Center drilled each shelf side. It's very stable with the dowels, so a back or front support is not needed. It folds down to about 1"Hx20"Wx15"D - very compact. Here are the pics... Hinges attached Dowels Added Display Stand Complete Put it away Sides Folded Shelves on top I'll add the runners, paint and sand it tomorrow then attack the first one I made Thanks as always in advance for reading Iguanadon and danny 1 1 Quote
Iguanadon Posted October 25, 2020 Report Posted October 25, 2020 Very nice. I'm guessing I'll build a couple new stands over the winter... now a matter of how I do it. LOL new2woodwrk 1 Quote
