Clayton717 Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 My superintendant is retiring at the end of the month, and our director wanted me to make him a pen. He wanted his name engraved on the barrel of the pen. His name was to long for me to engrave it, and make it readable. I ended up just writing it on the finishing over it with CA glue(my normal finish). The pen is made from box elder. the box is box elder as well. I painted the name and dates on the lid of the box and inset a coin with the city seal on it into the lid as well.(We work for the city) Quote
toolbeltman Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Very nice Clayton ....thanks for showing us..... Quote
Dan Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Great job Clayton. What kind of wood is it? Reminds me of box elder burl. An alternative to engraving is the decal. I've used them several times and they work great. The cover with CA nicely and if you use certain fonts, they even look engraved. The coin is a nice touch. Again, great job. Quote
