Rodger Scoular Posted November 16, 2020 Report Posted November 16, 2020 The top arm on my saw is hitting the arm housing. Is there a way to adjust so this does not happen. I am careful to move both arms low as possible when inserting a blade. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
dgman Posted November 16, 2020 Report Posted November 16, 2020 Hi Rodger, Welcome to the Village! I’m afraid we are going to need more information like the make and model of your saw, and pictures showing the problem. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Rodger Scoular Posted November 16, 2020 Author Report Posted November 16, 2020 riobi 16 in variable speed. It seems to me that neither arm goes down far enough and when the top arm gets stopped by the chassis, the bottom arm keeps moving up and bends the blade. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Fedido Posted November 16, 2020 Report Posted November 16, 2020 While I have never taken a Riobi apart yet, the model would help some others here. I do know that in my Dewalt, I took it about to lube the bearings. There was a plate on top of the top arm that I had to sand down so it wouldn't hit the top of the arm casing at high speeds. Might have something like that. More info would help as well as pictures. I have to see things to understand them. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Rodger Scoular Posted November 19, 2020 Author Report Posted November 19, 2020 Was adjustment mistake. If you loosen the tension adjustment enough, the arms move so that when you put the blade in, the top arm doesnt impact the housing. Thnks for the time you spent helping. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
dgman Posted November 20, 2020 Report Posted November 20, 2020 Glad you figured it out Rodger. Hope you stick around with us! OCtoolguy 1 Quote
