While I have never taken a Riobi apart yet, the model would help some others here. I do know that in my Dewalt, I took it about to lube the bearings. There was a plate on top of the top arm that I had to sand down so it wouldn't hit the top of the arm casing at high speeds. Might have something like that. More info would help as well as pictures. I have to see things to understand them.
