first cuts in a while

Life going a bit cr*p just now so not had chance to make much saw dust, but finally found some time so got 3 pictures cut, jimmy Hendrix,Janis Jopplin and Bob Marley they are all cut on 12mm ply and are A3 in size 11 x 16 inch sprayed with a clear lacquer, am not over happy with the Janis Jopplin but its what was asked for, still to put a black backer on the Bob Marley as his face is floating and will be glue to the backer but i am kind of undecided as to try a Jamaican back ground with thick stripes of colour

Extremely nice work.

I think a nice bold Jamacian colored background would look great on the Bob Marly cut, but not behind the his head within the leaves.

Frank, been thinking about you said about the coloured backer on the Bob Marley, my plan is to make the band of colour behind his head black just  to make the wood stand out more, is this what you were meaning if not whats your idea am open to suggestions on how to do the backer

Maybe we are saying the same thing, but I'm not sure.  You had said you though about adding brirght Jamican colors to the background.  I liked the idea, but in mu mind it would only work outside the leaves inside the edge border.  A black background should remain around Marley's image. 

Hope that is clear to what I invision.

Old classics.  Janis was a unique vocal soloist. It amazes me at times when a rough voice carves out a tune of its own and tops the charts.  I can think of several that have done it but she is one of the best examples.  Bobby Magee, Mercedes Benz..
