  1. Frank, been thinking about you said about the coloured backer on the Bob Marley, my plan is to make the band of colour behind his head black just to make the wood stand out more, is this what you were meaning if not whats your idea am open to suggestions on how to do the backer Gordon

Life going a bit cr*p just now so not had chance to make much saw dust, but finally found some time so got 3 pictures cut, jimmy Hendrix,Janis Jopplin and Bob Marley they are all cut on 12mm ply and are A3 in size 11 x 16 inch sprayed with a clear lacquer, am not over happy with the Janis Jopplin but its what was asked for, still to put a black backer on the Bob Marley as his face is floating and will be glue to the backer but i am kind of undecided as to try a Jamaican back ground with thick stripes of colour

  4. That's impressive really nice cut, getting some time to do any cutting at xmas is a god send, all of Scotland just went into full lock down again so am gonna get some proper saw time i hope, glad you had a good day

  7. Very impressive they look great together it would look fantastic as one big welcome home maybe a bit too big though
  8. Try thin slices of crayons or grate the crayons it melts and blends much easier and the results are amazing Ike
  9. The scrap ply was a deep red colour so I sanded of the top coat I couldn't wait to try melting the sliced crayons so some of the red was still on the surface area but it was just a test so I wasn't too bothered

This is my first time using resin on a picture, I cut the tiger from scrap plywood added a plain backer, then sliced coloured crayons and melted them with the heat gun, finally covered it all with clear resin, the pics don't do it justice the colours stand out so much better in real life Cheers Gordon

Nice job it looks stunning am just about to try making my first box, I might steel some of your ideas I love it when ppl go into detail about how they did something I learn so much I also wish ppl would put down what font they use on an item the more info we get the more so we learn, so thanks Frank good read and a great box mate
  14. Can't open it either, but big kudos to your good lady Anne Marie, Rick next year if you had a PO box address I would gladly cut and send something as am sure alot of ppl would from all over the world, some from Scotland, England, Australia etc its just a thought mate Cheers Gordon
  15. Nice cutting, I had no idea who he is, he looks alot like my mates dad, but I thought nah can't be him how would u know him or why would u cut him lol so of to Google I went so I now know who he is some good old tunes he did too

  18. your cuttings are so nice some how you manage to get perfect lines what a job you did BUT ..........sorry but your work is now over shadowed by your photos OMG your dogs are stunning if i lived closer my other would half would be in the car beeping the horn to come for a visit and meet your dogs lol

  21. Nice collection your attention to detail is fantastic, Frank with all them big tool think you need a wee extention on the side of ur shed like a wee gallery just for ur work

Just finished a couple of things for a friend, they have a gorgeous German shepard called Duke so I took a photo of it and made a key holder and a doggie dream catcher for them, it's the first time av had to glue bits in separately, I cut the head out then glued it back in to give it a 1mm outline

  24. I love the bowl, in my house the chocolates are gone long before they even get to a bowl and of course no one ate them as usual lol
