Thanks Grampa. I appreciate it.

I was wondering since there were so many views to my thread---why no one made any comments. Did I say something wrong in my request? Was the picture not good enough for a pattern?
Just wondering

I viewed your post because I love to see people's family's especially grandchildren....   But I am not a pattern maker... I am just curious... I don't think anything was wrong with anything.... Not all who view pattern requests are pattern makers.... What comments do you want or expect?  He is a handsome young man... that is for sure... I would be proud to have him as a grandson or great grandson...  I don't see where anyone  did anything wrong...  That is also a great pattern you got...

Lots of folks look at the requests, some may do some pattern styles, but not others. For example, someone may do word patterns but not portraits so they may look, realize it’s not something that is in their comfort zone. This is where a more specific title to the thread can help so if you had listed portrait pattern of grandson or child would give better idea of what type of pattern you need. Then many of us who are not pattern makers Still come to this subforum to see what is requested and made. I like to see what the request are for, and then to see what, if any, patterns are provided. I then look at the patterns to see (and often wonder in amazement) at what a pattern maker was able to do with  the image provided. It is great to look at and see how they approached and created the pattern. Then, you come back and see if the person who requested the pattern has provided a photo of the pattern actually cut out so that you can see the finished piece. So that’s at least 3 times I would look at the thread. Plus, I look at most any thread in all the sub forums that shows that it has had replies and comments since I was last on and looked (shown to me by being in bold next time I am on.) I do this because I learn a lot from seeing what is shared so that would add to the times I looked at a thread. So that would also increase the # of views, so I would be up to at least 4 views, so if you had 10 people like me and Paul you would quickly be up to over 40 views. 😉  I don’t always comment on every thread, sometimes I simply “like” a post, sometimes I do neither, especially in the pattern request area. I go through moods, so, if I am in a hurry I might just do a quick like, others I have more time and am in a more chatty mood, so I will add a comment. I will always try to add a comment if I feel I can add some helpful information to the thread.

What I'm saying is in the past people have told me if my picture is not good enough for a pattern. I have never had this many views without a remark of some kind.
I am sorry if I have said something that was wrong. I apologize.

Edddie I don’t think you said or did anything wrong. You we’re just curious why no one had replied from all the views and Paul and I were just explaining some of why that might be. I also suspect that most of those “views” came after grampa had already provided you with a pattern so there would have been no need for anyone to say anything in regard to whether it would work or not as grampa had clearly worked his magic with it. If you look at your post, it shows the request was made on Tuesday at 4:02 pm and grampa had his pattern for you posted the very next morning at 8:26 am so pretty quickly so probably why you didn’t get any other replies in regards to it since grampa had already done the work requested. Sometimes a request is seen and done quickly as here, other times it takes a bit as the few pattern makers we have don’t always get here regularly to look and see if they can help. So in those instances, you might get more replies from some saying something to help keep the post up to the top to be seen by a pattern creator when they do stop in. I look forward to seeing your cut piece of this handsome young fellow.
