Another Wise lesson project.  Place 3/8" poplar over 3/4" mahogany and cut to fit with a walnut sole.  Use the cutouts as shims.  I can not find white wood in my area, so I used Pickling White gel stain.  Wiped on two coats... not impressed... then just painted on a slightly thinned coat.  It is okay if you don't look too close.  The pattern had a clock insert that I replaced with a Texas star.  Wood burned stitching.  Dremel carved grooves to simulate worn leather.  Overall, a fairly easy project.  Up next, Girl with Boots.  But I have to make a king bed with drawers for one of the kids, so it will be another month or so.

That came out great! I like how you used the star.
