Hello scrollsaw and sculptor pros , your advises are welcome !

This project is to thanks the brother-in-law for his weekly follow-up for over a year, regarding the evolution of the “Covid”. 1eek.gif

And he signs “Your Guardian Angel”, so to thank him and encourage him, I do this piece intarsia/sculpture from this drawing found on the web. that I modified and added the main topic of covid-19.

After transfer to the wood ( cherry tree ) 1/2 in. x 8" X 8" , cutting with a scroll saw, transferring a few lines into the wood with a scalpel, rounding corners to make more clouds… and I tried to sculptered by putting my model in 3D , to make it more real with ! Not obvious !🙄

Was wandering for the finish with oil like Osmo satin, if I will put one color for the entire piece or many for all the differents parts as , clouds, wing, body, shirt, to let the 3D effect appear at his best. Il will do some test naturally.
And some additions still to come as the eyes and others surprises .........! 1wink.gif

If I was to put any color anywhere it would just be the cloud and the wings.  Maybe a white wash, that's all.  It looks great by the way.

Here is my Angel completed and ready to give to Marc, my brother in law and " guardian angel " 😉 who have a good sense of humor !

I added some smalls details to give him an funny look, as the hair, which is an piece you put normaly on a furniture, the eyes in Amarante, the covid and eyesbrows in Bubinga .

I had a lot of fun to do this angel and tried to made it funny!
