jerry1939 Posted July 28, 2021 Report Posted July 28, 2021 Re; A plane in a plane. While serving in the Military, I spent 1960 between the Artic Circle & the North Pole. All supplies where flown in. We would stop & watch them unload sometimes. Once I saw them open the back of a cargo plane. They backed a tractor truck in & pulled out a semi of fuel. I was amazed at the weight of that. They unhooked it, backed the truck in and pulled out a second tanker! danny and RabidAlien 2 Quote
Joe W. Posted July 29, 2021 Report Posted July 29, 2021 Regarding the Welch sign, a few years ago my wife and I went to Wales and while there at a post office/shop I picked up a postcard with Welch words printed on it. Took it to the cashier and asked what it said and she couldn't tell me/translate it as she didn't learn the language. She was Welch. It reminded me of something I read once about nations conquering other nations; that to fully integrate the conquered nation, they would take away as much of the culture as possible, including their language. LarryEA Posted July 29, 2021 Report Posted July 29, 2021 like the cat painting, I experienced the GPS sending me to a dead end housing project. Did not understand 'making captain.' The birds tell it like it is. A lot of good ones... thank you Quote
