If you remember my dewalt scroll saw broke down over the summer, we were lucky to find another one on line for 300 dollars.its excetly like the other two dewalts Iv had over the past 40 years with one exception, trying to put a blade in it is a nightmair!  I dont know what they did to the darn machine but it bends the blade IF you manage to get it into the saw at all. if I didnt know better id think the blades were 2 short...but there not.....and you can bairly seem to get the blade in the groves far enough to tighten it down.  it took me 15 minutes to put a new blade in and get it tightened down and then when i turned it on as soon as i tried to saw the blade bent in half!!  its a frustring fight with the saw every time i try to use it...spike is working on it now....I told him maybe if we switch the blade holders of this saw with the blade holders of the old one maybe that would fix the problem.....if not i'll have to keep fighting with this one until i can save up the money to buy a new one...and it WONT be another dewalt... now you know why i havent been on any one have any ideas on this problem? well spike got a blade in it so i shall see if i can cut out the rest of my daughters christmas present sigh its hard to guide the wood to....soap has helped that a bit

I probably would not blame the saw for a problem like you are having, It's more than likely the set screw on the left side of the blade opening is NOT holding the blade in the center of the opening .

Check closely, to see if the blade is centered when you tighten it up. More than likely the  set screw to the left side of the opening needs to be adjusted. Things do get out of adjustment sometimes and most of the time the tool doesn't do it all by itself.

Try not to stress out over such things and try to enjoy what you are doing.

Sounds like the tension adjust rod is too tight..

I think you may have something there. . . When I got my DW this at the beginning of the year, I adjusted my tension rod while troubleshooting a noise problem.
I am fairly certain I adjusted it a little too much. The tension knob dial rarely goes past 2 for it to be tight.
I think I gave the adjusting nut something like 6 turns when I adjusted it.
I have gotten used to it, but next time I need to open it up for maintenance I'll back the adjustment nut off a couple turns.

Sounds like the tension adjust rod is too tight.. There is a rod underneath the tension lever that runs to a threaded wedge / block. May need to take the power switch cover plastic off and turn that rod out a couple turns to allow the upper arm to come down a bit lower.

You beat me to it. The same reason that the arm on the Ex's must be parallel to the table. If either saw's upper is not aligned correctly it widens the distance between the blade clamps and you will swear yhat the blades are too short.

I made the same mistake on my DW but I didn't wait. I fixed it right away. Doesn't take that long.

Like these guys said, either the set screw in the left side which I suspect or the tension arm. Brand new Dewalts now a days have the tension loose. When I tighten In A blade, it goes all the way to 5. Just too lazy to adjust the arm, but think it will be done now sooner rather than later.
