BrianA Posted January 27, 2022 Report Posted January 27, 2022 I am just starting to try to use Inkscape to make a pattern. Here is the photo as well as an svg file (not sure if it will open). This is as close I was able to get to a workable pattern. Is this close? Also do you fix all the areas to avoid pieces not connecting on the program or do you have to go back and do it on a copy? Thanks in advance Brian street ok3.svg Quote
Dan Posted January 27, 2022 Report Posted January 27, 2022 For portraits I start with a graphics application like Gimp or Photo shop. After I get the desired look to the pattern I'll import it to Inkscape to finalize it. At some point most patterns will require you to add bridges to avoid pieces from dropping out. If you haven't done so, I recommend watching the videos in the Scroll Saw University. Quote
