barb.j.enders Posted May 3, 2022 Report Posted May 3, 2022 Someone recently posted a picture of the Apple puzzle that someone then commented on about having kids in a class sign the pieces. It came from the Scrollsaw woodworking magazine. Of course I can't find that post. And it might have been in another social media site. But does anyone know which issue it was from? Quote
meflick Posted May 3, 2022 Report Posted May 3, 2022 (edited) Barb, I don’t remember seeing it recently either in the magazine or on here. Did they indicate if it was recently in the magazine do you recall? I’ll keep an eye out for it. Did you check the magazine’s Index page online?you can find it here: https://scrollsawer.com/article-index/ (That said, the search results there can be spotty at best. Sometimes things I know are in one turn up, and sometimes not. ) edited to add: I did a quick search and there was this Apple alphabet puzzle that showed up from a 2005 issue. meflick Posted May 3, 2022 Report Posted May 3, 2022 Barb, I have the CDs of the magazine issues so I checked Issue 19, Summer 2005 and I'm afraid it is probably not the one you were thinking of. Here is a photo of the one from that issue. It is an apple with the actual letters cut out versus being cut into puzzle pieces you could write on unfortunately. Here is the image from that issue: I'll keep looking barb.j.enders 1 Quote
meflick Posted May 3, 2022 Report Posted May 3, 2022 (edited) I did find this one of a photo of an apple puzzle but no reference to where the pattern came from: https://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forums/topic/26762-my-first-try/#comment-295322 and this reference to one from @orangeman here: but unfortunately, Brian has not been on the forum in over 2 years and his website is no longer active it looks like. The more I have thought about this - the more it seems like I have seen it - maybe when someone shared the alphabet snake puzzle? I did find a couple of different apple puzzle patterns available on Etsy. Check them here: https://www.etsy.com/search?q=apple puzzle SVG and a couple on pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/puzzle-piece-crafts-hand-crafts-for-kids-drawing-apple--80924124538545226/ (I didn't find anything here in the Village so far.) They erased the material list in the corner. barb.j.enders and meflick 1 1 Quote

meflick Posted May 4, 2022 Report Posted May 4, 2022 Glad @don in brooklin onand ChelCas were able to find the one you wanted. Searching in the Article Index for “Apple puzzle”, “Apple” or “puzzle” SHOULD have turned that one up that Don noted but didn’t when I searched, so why I said I don’t trust it when I search, just feel lucky when it works! Don, unfortunately that happens a lot on people posting things to Pinterest unfortunately. They seem to think they don’t need to credit where it originated from. barb.j.enders 1 Quote

Don and @barb.j.enders - I was checking for the pattern in my copies of the magazine and Issue 25 is the 2006 Holiday issue. I found it is actually in Issue 26, Spring 2007 on Page 56. Just wanted to clarify for Barb or anyone else looking in back issues of the magazine for this pattern. Now, to see if I can get one cut at some point. barb.j.enders and John B 1 1 Quote
