lilmike Posted September 15, 2022 Report Posted September 15, 2022 (edited) I was wondering if anyone knows of a program I can use to personalize dog puzzle patterns? Like this pattern I need to make it say HAUS.. Any help is greatly appreciated. Edited September 16, 2022 by Travis Removed copywritten pattern and replaced it with a screenshot Quote
new2woodwrk Posted September 15, 2022 Report Posted September 15, 2022 You can use most of the programs (inkscape, gimp, paint.net, illustrator etc.) available if you know how to use them. A quicker way (which is how we do them): Print the pattern White out the center Re-draw the custom text Scan and print Takes a lot less time if you are not familiar with the programs Dan 1 Quote
kmmcrafts Posted September 16, 2022 Report Posted September 16, 2022 Easiest for me is to contact Scott at www.woodcraftbyscott.com and purchase a custom name pattern of whatever dog breed you want.. yes a little pricey but for me I'd rather scroll saw while someone else does the pattern.. I could spend 5 hours working on the pattern myself and still end up with a very crappy design.. Scott sells the patterns for Harvey Byler.. the person who made the pattern you posted.. and they do custom work.. or at least did the last I knew.. barb.j.enders 1 Quote

Iniust can’t justify paying $25 for a custom one and have to wait 2 weeks or more for the pattern when people want them asap.. Quote

I use these sites: https://www.1001freefonts.com/outline-fonts-26.php https://www.dafont.com/ https://www.myfonts.com/ https://www.fontsquirrel.com/ Hope that helps BTW - if you are looking for the font Harvey uses, he does them free hand so there is no font. You can come close I guess, but I haven't found any fonts that work which is why I suggest doing it on paper Edited September 17, 2022 by new2woodwrk Quote

I think that is your best bet, Most pattern designers aren't going to step on the toes of one of their fellow designers by creating a free pattern and hindering a sale of a fellow designer.. I do think there could be market for puzzle designs for designers should they want to make some of that type of works.. however Harvey and the designer of the woodamles from fox chapel have a wide array of designs already..
