New bowl

A friend of my wife’s at work is getting married and my wife wanted me to make them a segmented bowl. It is walnut and cherry. It is 11” in diameter and 4” tall.

Beautiful piece you have crafted Rusty.  Did you laser the name and date on?  They will love it as I am sure your wife does.

Thank you. No the names and date are routed out on my CNC and filled with black epoxy resin. It had to be done before the bowl was glued together and turned so it I had to be able to sand it. I made then 1/4” deep so I could sand the bottom without affecting them.

Looks great. I think I'm going to try turning this year. Sounds like a fine New Years Resolution and unlike losing 20 pounds - maybe I actually do it?!!
