Eplfan2011 Posted December 9, 2022 Report Posted December 9, 2022 As the title suggests it's been a rough week which started with my 19yr old getting her Tonsils removed. No biggie, routine surgery but with a little rougher recovery due to her being older (I was familiar with this because I didn't have mine out untill I was 40) Surgery went well and she was released the same day, everything went well Saturday and Sunday apart from me coming down with the flu. Some time Monday I'm startled by screaming and my daughter running down the stairs with blood pouring out of her mouth and nose, it's bright red and slightly frothy witch would indicate Arterial bleeding. Luckily my wife is a RN and the hospital is only mins away. To cut a long story short, coughing ha tore one of the scabs off along with a piece of the artery, she went in for emergency surgery and ended up having to have a transfusion too due to loss of blood. They ended up keeping her untill today as they were also worried about pneumonia due to her aspirating quite a lot of blood. She's home now recovering and resting, me, I feel ten years older ... WayneMahler Posted December 9, 2022 Report Posted December 9, 2022 I hope all things work out good for you and your daughter. Both our kids had theirs removed when they were young, my wife still has hers. At 65 I guess she will keep them. Prayers going out for you and your family for a quick and complete recovery. Dak0ta52 Posted December 10, 2022 Report Posted December 10, 2022 Prayers for your daughter... and for your family. My week hasn't been much better. Biopsy on Wednesday. Haven't felt good since. Twisted my knee at work a few weeks ago and it doesn't seem to be getting better. On steroids for a while and if that doesn't work it will be the shot in the knee. To top it off, it is supposed to be in the mid 50s this weekend which means I'll have to bundle up to do my scrolling in the shop. Eplfan2011 and OCtoolguy 2 Quote

John B Posted December 13, 2022 Report Posted December 13, 2022 So glad that it all worked out for the better Colin. Just the other week I was discussing having tonsils removed as things are lot different than when I was nipper. A young teacher from School (24)_ had hers out and had to stay in Perth for 7 days afterward, We live 6 hrs away. It was quite a routine thing years ago, kids got fed Ice cream and jelly and back at school in few days. Quote
