Norm Fengstad Posted January 28, 2023 Report Posted January 28, 2023 any thoughts on the Rapid Resizer program as I am thinking of trying it out? OCtoolguy 1 Quote
TAIrving Posted January 28, 2023 Report Posted January 28, 2023 The driver for my printer offers me the option to print at full size or any specified percentage of full size. I regularly use that option to resize my patterns. I have to pay attention when printing patterns because it has the option to print to fit to the page and that is usually what it automatically selects. I neglect this at my own risk. Scrappile Posted January 28, 2023 Report Posted January 28, 2023 I tried it a few times and worked okay, but I can do the same thing with the free portion of Adobe printing in the Poster mode.I convert my patterns to PDF files and than use Adobe to print them. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
jollyred Posted January 29, 2023 Report Posted January 29, 2023 I also used it at one time and it did a good job. Now I use Inkscape to resize any patterns I need. I can also draw and modify patterns in Inkscape. Tom FrankEV, don watson, Dave Monk and 1 other 4 Quote
Wichman Posted January 29, 2023 Report Posted January 29, 2023 I don't use RR (I use a different program). Looks like RR has gone to the subscription model; pay a modest fee, but the program is never yours and you need to determine if the cost is something you're willing to pay. I don't know how accurate RR is, nor what kind of accuracy you're after. If we knew that answer it would be easier to make suggestions. For what I do I need a program to be able to do several things; 1. Resize a pattern to a specific width ( to fit within a board I have, or fit a piece of scrap that I have ) 2. Print a pattern with slots, so that the slots are a precise width i.e. 1/4", 5/16", etc. 3. Enlarge a pattern for a specific goal. Enlarge the dresser mirror from a 4 x 6" mirror to a 6" tall mirror and proportionally enlarge the rest of the pattern to match. 4. For my needs I have to have a programs that can print accurately, The one I use can be adjusted for different printers and if you take the time, it can be adjusted to be accurate to a pixel width. It doesn't appear that you are after that kind of accuracy and you would probably be happy with Inkscape. There are several fairly simple tools within Inkscape, that once learned would get you where you're trying to go. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
JackJones Posted January 29, 2023 Report Posted January 29, 2023 I use word to resize to any size, even over multiple pages if that’s the size I’m looking for. OCtoolguy 1 Quote

I just bought a new computer as my other system is aging out and trying to decide what programs to install . I also want to try making patterns on the computer I have a very old word type program that doesn't allow me to print on multiple sheets ( or maybe I haven't figured that out yet) my printer prints up up 11x17 and also allows me to raise or lower the copy size. for ornaments and smaller things I will print down to 4x6 photo size. often times when enlarging the pattern outlines get quite grainy and or the cut lines also get enlarged. crupiea Posted July 15, 2023 Report Posted July 15, 2023 Insert an image in excel or whatever spreadsheet program you have. Change the view to page layout view so you can see all the page edges. You can then drag the little corner things to whatever size you want. It will print across multiple pages. OCtoolguy and don watson 1 1 Quote
