Our county fair has a building dedicated to crafts from the 1800s and I was invited last year to demonstrate scrolling with my c.1890 treadle scrollsaw.  A friend took a video of the saw in operation but can’t seem to find a way of getting a copy to me.  She used her phone to record the video but her email program won’t send it (says it’s too large to mail).  Any ideas on how she could get a copy to me?  I believe it’s an android OS (I know it’s not an iPhone). Is there a way to copy a file from her phone to something I could use to transfer to my laptop?

If she has blue tooth on her computer, she can transfer the file from her phone to the computer. Then email the video to you using the computer. Another method would be to plug her phone into the computer using a USB cable. She should be able to access her phone through the computer and download the video. For some reason cell phones won't transfer large files. I had a video of our puppy that was only 15-seconds long and the wife wanted me to send it to her phone. It wouldn't transfer because the file was too large. Cameras they are making on phones now days are so sophisticated a single picture can be 5 or 6 megabytes. Imagine a video taking pictures 30 to 60 times per second. It adds up quickly. You can set the camera video to a lesser quality and have a better chance of sending the file however I realize she has already taken the video. Good luck. I hope she can get the video to you.

Hi Bruce
Try using "We Transfer"
It's free and can send up to 2GB of info. If the link doesn't work just Google We Transfer
https://wetransfer.com/
After you attach the file that you are sending, you put your email, the recipient's email in,  verify them and then you send
it's easy to do and it's fast
There are other file sharing apps but I use this one  and it hasn't failed me yet

Just a wierd observation... you want to transfer movies for something for 1800's technology.

If the theme was 1800s then it should be just actively doing it. No monitors, no motors ok maybe steam.

Oh no ....  no cell phones allowed.

Mark, the presenters were demonstrating their craft in 1800s style (including clothing). No motors, no electricity. Can’t control the visitors walking through. The video was of me using the treadle to demonstrate.  Like taking pictures at Williamsburg etc.
