Hello pattern makers. I have had some patterns made in the past by the talented pattern makers here before and everyone was great so I come to you once again but this one is going to be tougher because I am relying somewhat of your ideas to help me. There was a project shown in the other woodwork forum and the saying that was used was so great and I asked if it was possible to use and got the OK to do so. A little background. I am a pen maker as another hobby along with scrollsawing so this would fit right into both genres and hoping someone can help.  I want to make a pen stand that will help me display a specific pen. I have yet to make the pen but that will be coming. My idea is to have a plaque or background on this stand which is basically a desk stand for the pen, that has this saying in it.

God is still writing your story. Quit trying to steal the pen. Trust the author.

I have no idea what a good font or fonts would work with this theme and be easy to scroll so relying on help there. Also would like a couple of crosses put within the pattern being a religious theme. Maybe do some sort of framing it with a scrolled design on the edges. I should be able to size it on my own if need be.  Here is a couple ideas of what I actually do. I would greatly appreciate any ideas and patterns. As pattern makers your knowledge and ideas would be far better than what I can imagine. Thank you all for your time and efforts.

Paul, Love it. Well Done!! I looked at the crosses and saw they would not work as no bridges. I could put them in.  But after further thought what I will do is make them an applique or an overlay item. I even have some  icon crosses that may work well and I can size to what needs to be. Thank you very very much. This is after the holidays project so I can dedicate enough time to it. I am stoked. Thank you again. I will post photo when completed.

Paul did a great job on my request and thank him for it and I will be making this for sure. if anyone else wants to give this idea a try I will be very happy to see them as well because I can make different styles as I do with other pen stands. This is what I do. I knew I asked in the right place because the talent that is here. Love it. Wow. Thank you.

Paul I am trying to get a copy of this pattern but having a problem getting a good size to it. It is coming out as a thumbnail. Is there any other way you can link this pattern? Thanks. Would like to get started on doing it.

Well Paul Jr.  you did good.😀 That is what I am use to here PDF file. Very easy to open for us computer illiterates. Now I can play with that on my copier for size changes if need be. Not sure how I want to do this. Gives me something new to work on. Thanks. Could you share the secret of doing this? In case I have another instance to convert something. ?

Well, I'm not sure why you was only getting a thumbnail size as when I open it, it was fine. There is probably an easier way to convert to PDF than what I did. I Imported it into inkscape and then went to the top and hit the save as and named the file and selected the file type to save as. Here is some screenshots that might help. The blue highlight is what you click on in inkscape

Thanks. I was trying something like this in whatever program is on this computer but it would not stay enlarged. I tried various things that I usually do with other photos I take with my camera but this did not cooperate. I can work with this. When I see other pattern makers post patterns that is the usual way I see them in a PDF file. Easy to work with then. As I said I am not too sure how I may manipulate it if I do at all. I need to test sizing and go from there. Thanks again.

I am waiting on some 3D printed Angel pen holding props that I had made by someone and that will help determine sizes I need. Going to look good. I have the olive wood that I am going to use to cut most of the pattern out. Probably do some overlaying with the lettering somehow. Ideas still rolling around in the head.

If you need sizing help let me know. I can size it in inkscape and save as PDF for you or do screenshots of the process I use and you can try from that so you know as well. Glad to help if I can. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this as it's an awesome idea as a pen display.

Wish I was good with design work like some of the others.. but I am learning inkscape for manipulating current designs and things like that.. maybe someday I will be good at design work too.

Thanks I too wish I could design in programs like that. years ago I bought Photo Shop and was going to learn that but I started and get lost fast. Just never could pick it up.

Going to incorporate this Angel that I had made which is 3D printed into my pen stand and this plaque. Should look good. This pen was always tough to photograph because of the swirls in the silver. It is a spectacular pen in person. I will be making some religious pens to go with it instead of this one. just grabbed that one for the shot.
