Millwab Posted December 21, 2023 Report Posted December 21, 2023 I finished up a couple of gift card holders for last minute Christmas gifts and was thinking about making a dozen or so after the New Year for family and friends. The way I made these was fine for only two, but if I’m making multiples it would be too laborious. Have any of you made these in quantities and have tips, tricks, or shortcuts to help the process along? OCtoolguy 1 Quote
dgman Posted December 21, 2023 Report Posted December 21, 2023 If you cut the design on both sides, stack cut them. If you cut the design just on one side, stack cut them also. Use strips of wood cut into three pieces to make up the middle section instead of cutting out of one piece of wood. There is less waste that way. Quote

He also has one that is a mail truck. They are used to hold gift cards like an Amazon gift card, a restaurant gift card, etc. https://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2009/11/give-gift-card-in-hand-made-wooden.html OCtoolguy 1 Quote

They are not for you to carry around the gift card once you receive it, They are for giving the gift card to the recipient as a gift. The recipient then removes the gift card from the holder but vacant keep it as an ornament or reuse it to gift a gift card to another. barb.j.enders, Roberta Moreton and OCtoolguy 1 2 Quote
flarud Posted December 27, 2023 Report Posted December 27, 2023 (edited) I made these several years ago for my wife and reuse them every year. I don't think they took that long to make. If you keep the front design simple you should be able to make several in no time. I think they maybe a Steve Good design. Edited December 27, 2023 by flarud Quote
