I guess I have made about 5 sets of these over the years and I'm pretty sure after each set I told myself no more!  LOL.  These are time consuming and require a lot of space while making them... Cornhole Boards.  The 2 sets in the following pics were just recently completed.  My daughter asked me to make a set for her boyfriend for Christmas.   He likes the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as do I.  I figured if I was going to make him a set, I may as well make me another set too.  The set that I already had was a tailgating size and a bit harder to score on.  I made my set first and they came out pretty good.  My daughter and her boyfriend came over and we played on them for a while.  My daughter told me after they had left that he asked her if she thought that I could make him a set.  She just shrugged it off.  So prior to starting on his set I sent my daughter some design choices for his set.  She replied that he also likes the Florida Gators and that she thinks he would want the Gators instead of the Buccaneers.  So that is what I made for him.

I used 1/2" Birch plywood for the top and 1 x 4's for the base.  Bought the decals online, 3 coats of each color of paint, and 8 coats of Polycrylic.  Man, my pocket hole jig came in handy making these!  I also came up with the idea of mounting a 40' retractable clothesline on the under-side with a black spray paint mark at 27' as a built in tape measure.  Overall, both sets came out pretty nice,, but once again I told myself after finishing them up, no more!!

Well, no more boards but I came up with another idea of a scoreboard.  Usually playing Cornhole coincides with drinking alcohol and usually everyone forgets the score.  I made the scoreboard with a 2x4 and a piece of 2x12 for the base, a few items from Amazon and some paint.  I like the design.  After some co-workers saw pictures of it, I had 3 more to make.  I made a few modifications to make it a little better.  I am in the process of making my daughters boyfriend a scoreboard now.

Very nice, I like the scoring deal, where did you get the plans for that, RJ

Thanks rj.  No plans, just threw some boards together.  With making 4 of them over the last 2 months, I can now make one in about 30 minutes, minus the painting.  I used something big and heavy for the base, 1x12, used a 2x4 for the upright, and used a 1x12 for the drink holder with some supports underneath it. Ordered the aluminum cup holders and metal scoreboard from Amazon, decal either from Etsy or homemade by my wife.
