rjweb Posted May 23, 2024 Report Posted May 23, 2024 What saw are you using, some have a way of changing the blade chucks to pin less, RJ OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Roberta Moreton Posted May 23, 2024 Report Posted May 23, 2024 Things like bowls will be difficult if not impossible with your saw. It could be done, but you would have to use multiple patterns and would use double the amount of wood. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Solution Wichman Posted May 23, 2024 Solution Report Posted May 23, 2024 One method to use smaller pilot holes with pin end blades is:: 1. pull the pin from the top of the blade with needle nose pliers 2. drill a series of holes to form a slot 3. thread the blade through the slot 4. replace the top pin with a safety pin ( used in sewing ). I used this technique with my first saw, until I bought a pinless scroll saw. jollyred, OCtoolguy, jamesgibson wood and 1 other 4 Quote

OCtoolguy Posted May 23, 2024 Report Posted May 23, 2024 Another method is to cut an angle cut in from the side, make your cut and then glue the ends together. Quote

Hey, that's what I was going to say, LOL.. Though I was kind of thinking it might be best if you could stager the cut ends on each of the rings so they're not all in the same spot. OCtoolguy 1 Quote

Dan Posted May 24, 2024 Report Posted May 24, 2024 What everyone e said... plus a lot of sanding. A drum sander make it a lot easier and faster. Also, some bowl are make with scalloped edges. If you plan we'll, the blade entry hole will be covered fairly well during assemble. Steve Good has several on his site. kmmcrafts and OCtoolguy 2 Quote

If memory severs correctly ( I started with this saw ) there is no room for a blade adapter. Pegas, Olsen, and Vermont american all still make blades for this saw, I would recommend the 25 tpi blades. it always worked the best for me, and gives a polished finish on the cut ( in pine ). OCtoolguy Posted May 27, 2024 Report Posted May 27, 2024 I just read the tag line on this post. It's one of those situations where the addition or deletion of one letter can make all the difference in the meaning of the subject. As in bowels rather than bowls. LOL. Quote
jamesgibson wood Posted May 28, 2024 Author Report Posted May 28, 2024 I suck at spelling, sorry about that OCtoolguy 1 Quote
