Popular Post trailfndr Posted August 9, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted August 9, 2024 I have spent that past month working on this piece. Designed by Kathy Wise, it measures 34.25 x 23.5 inches. It contains over 250 pieces of Afromosia, Alder, Aromatic Cedar, Ash, Blue Pine, Bolivian Rosewood, Canarywood, Cherry, Chestnut, Curly Maple, Holly, Honey Locust, Mahogany, Meranti, Mesquite, Osage Orange, Padauk, Peruvian Walnut, Poplar, Primavera, Sitka Spruce, Spalted Jopbillo, Spalted Maple, Spalted Sycamore, Spanish Cedar, Walnut, Wenge, and Yellowheart This was the most challenging project I have done in my 16 years of making Intarsia. I learned a lot, and made several mistakes that had to be fixed. But I am pleased with the final result. Dave Monk, Dan, Wichman and 9 others 9 3 Quote

TAIrving Posted August 10, 2024 Report Posted August 10, 2024 Beautiful! Great choices of woods, the colors really stand out. I am now working on my second intarsia project and am up to 13 pieces. And I am hooked. But I am not up to trying 250 pieces - maybe someday. Your post gives me something to aspire to. Quote
Gonzo Posted August 10, 2024 Report Posted August 10, 2024 May I add a fourth WOW to the wow, wow and wow! That is very beautiful piece. Very nice frame also! Quote
Peter N White Posted August 26, 2024 Report Posted August 26, 2024 Incredible work all your timbers are spot on. If I tried that in my country I would have to paint or stain as our choices are limited. Quote
