BrianA Posted October 16, 2024 Report Posted October 16, 2024 I am stack cutting 2 3/8" soft maple. I've tried a #2 spiral and it just didn't seem to have the " strengthen" to do it. a #5 spiral made the kerf to big, Even having trouble deciding on a straight blade. The pattern is dense, but not that bad. FrankEV and OCtoolguy 1 1 Quote
FrankEV Posted October 16, 2024 Report Posted October 16, 2024 (edited) A regular #2 or #3 should work. A skip tooth blade may work the best. Going slow and not pushing too hard is the way to go. I use spirals much of the time, but they do not work well for thick material. Edited October 16, 2024 by FrankEV Hawk and OCtoolguy 1 1 Quote
BrianA Posted October 17, 2024 Author Report Posted October 17, 2024 Tried a Polar 5 and 7 which seemed to work Do they sound larger that what you would use? OCtoolguy 1 Quote

BrianA Posted October 18, 2024 Author Report Posted October 18, 2024 Thanks, I did have trouble maneuvering around with the #7 blade. Will try smaller. Thanks OCtoolguy 1 Quote
