kcortese Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 Hello to all you nice people!! This is my first time creating a scroll pattern and then scrolling it. Well, it started out rough due to the fact my blade chuck cap screws were worn, I had to slap together a nut and bolt to work. A real pain in the *?!. Then, I found a company online who accually had 6 of them. I purchased all six and they arrived yesterday morning. I have a 2 speed 16" Delta Model 40-560. Parts are very hard to find. After receiving the new cap screws, the progress went much faster. I really messed up the hand and direction of reins from bit to hand. It was too late to fix on this one. But, my next attempt will be correct. In fact there are a lot of mistakes that will be changed on my 2nd attempt at this art medium. Thank you for viewing and reading. Karen Quote
jteagle77 Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 Very nice job on pattern and cutting. Anyone can be a woodworker, but it takes a real carftsmen to blend in his mistakes and no one knows they are there. John Quote
DWSUDEKUM Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 Not bad at all Karen for a first attempt. Pattern making is seldom easy and like scrolling itself is a skill that increases with practice and use. You are doing great. Keep up the great work. Thanks for sharing it. DW Quote
kcortese Posted September 10, 2012 Author Report Posted September 10, 2012 HI John and DW Thank you for the kind words of encouragement, this is a new skill I'm trying to learn. I'm currently working my second pattern which is coming along better. Patterns are very time consuming; which I just found out. I had no idea it would be so hard. My hat is off to all of you who create patterns! I'm hoping to finish the pattern today and then scroll tommarow. I will post my second pattern attempt after I finish cleaning it up. Thanks again, Karen Quote
DonR Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 Karen, Nice Job!! Keep up the good work. Don R Quote
