Charlie E Posted February 1 Report Posted February 1 (edited) $4 antique store find. Hand carved ebony wooden elephant that had just one long tusk. Now he’s got two short ones. The tusks and eyes are made from the same material, don’t know if it’s ivory or some kind of plastic/resin. I’m calling him Ebony. Scrappile Posted February 2 Report Posted February 2 The stuff called "Alternate Ivory" would work just fine for that repair also. I have been thinking that if I get into intarsia, I would use that for some of the white pieces needed, like teeth, tusks, and whites of eyes. It's not wood and maybe a no-no for intarsia, but I would use it anyway, and there is Casein also. White or a little off white, but easy to work with. OCtoolguy and Charlie E 2 Quote
