ChrisCaroe Posted February 17 Report Posted February 17 (edited) Hello. I am new here and hope this an appropriate use of this forum I'm writing on behalf of a small social business called OutoftheBox based in Sheffield, England which is looking for a new supplier for small wooden figures scroll cut from a range of hardwoods. 8 or 9cm high and 8 or 9mm think. Examples of the figures can be seen at https://outoftheboxstories.org/materials/ and the attached photo. We are a not for profit organisation that improves people's wellbeing through storytelling and discussion. And we are in genuine need of help. The last supplier of our scroll cut figures was a social enterprise that employed people with learning disabilities, but it has unfortunately shut down. So far, we have only found suppliers able to lazer cut ply. But this is not the quality and attractive look and feel we want. I would very much like to hear from anyone who may be able to supply, or who knows a company or crafts-person who could. The figures come in sets of 21 and we would be looking to place orders of say 10 or up to 50 sets depending on your capacity. I can share further information with anyone interested in offering a quote and ideally samples. Thank you so much. Chris. Please email me at chriscaroe@yahoo.co.uk. BadBob Posted February 19 Report Posted February 19 (edited) I can do this. Is this for pay or charity? What quantity do you need? Can you provide patterns? I'm in Tallahassee, Florida, USA, so I am unsure if I can help you. Edited February 19 by BadBob barb.j.enders, TAIrving and OCtoolguy 3 Quote

I'm guessing this person might not get back on here to see your reply as they left a email so if you're interested in doing this then I would send a message to that email they left.. Also they indicated that they're in the UK and not in the USA.. Not a big deal I suppose if you're willing and able to mail to the UK. That said there are many fraudsters these days from not only other countries but also here in the USA.. just harder to take legal action when they're in another country so proceed with caution is my suggestion. If they're legit they should provide you with a tax deduction code from their non profit organization so you'd be able to take tax credit from your business if you are a type of business that can do deductions.. some types of businesses cannot do deductions for instance if your set up as a hobby without at a minimum of a dba and sales tax license is my understanding but do your own research and don't take my word as absolute.. BadBob Posted February 20 Report Posted February 20 I am very cautious, but I do sell outside the US from time to time. Last year, someone tracked me down and emailed me asking me to make something for them. It sounded strange, but we worked it out, and they paid in advance. It was a company in Switzerland. One of the hats I wore before I retired was "Computer Systems Security Officer." I have helped put scammers in prison. OCtoolguy, barb.j.enders and kmmcrafts 2 1 Quote
kmmcrafts Posted February 20 Report Posted February 20 I also sell to other countries.. but no longer offer to all countries like I once did as it gets too much to keep up with all the regulations as to what can and cannot be shipped into some countries. Some do not allow products made from some species of wood so even have to watch that. My brother owns a sawmill business and they also make pallets for several local companies. A couple of the companies that buy pallets from him ship their product to another country and those pallets have to go into a "bake room" and bake at a certain temp for I think it was 12 hours? Anyway there is a special process for those skids that is required by the other country. It was a big contract at one time for him because he was the only one to take a chance and built a special building to house several pallets at once in order to "bake" LOL.. and for a long time he was the only one in the area doing it. BadBob Posted February 21 Report Posted February 21 I only ship to Europe, Australia, and Canada. Maybe one order a year. kmmcrafts and OCtoolguy 2 Quote
