duke2a10 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 I am new to intarsia and would like some info on the type and size of blade to use. Also the best maker of blades. Thank Quote
Clayton717 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 in my opinion Flying dutchman blades are the best and use them almost always. When doing intarsia I use either a # 5 or 7 reverse tooth blade. These blades work well for me. Travis 1 Quote
Travis Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 You can find Flying Dutchman blades at Mike's Workshop. He's a great guy to work with. Quote
Ben12 Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 I agree, Flying Dutchman blades are very fine blades and Mike is a big help. I also have used Olson #5 PGT blades for my Intarsia, and also used Pegus blades with very good results. It's always best to try various blades and manufacturers until you find the ones you like best. Do stay away from the big box store blades. Quote
amazingkevin Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 I've been wondering why people use diffeant blades and i guess you don't need the reverse scroll blades for intarsia because the reverse side is never seen so a clean edge is not needed Quote

sANDYbAY Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 I've just looked on the blade web site. Fantastic, but now I'm even more confused about which would be the preferred blades Quote
