Compound cutting

I decided to rest my sore shoulder and start cleaning out shop drawers today

got stuff in there I haven't seen in a decsde

 

i found a gold colored bottle stopper kit

i gave all my turning kits to preacher who bought my lathe this one was buried under other stuff so I decided to make a stopper with wine compound cut on it

had no clue what I was doing and it didn't come out good my hands were unsteady today

ill give it one more shot tomorrow but will shape it like a wine bottle

On my third attempt this morning bad words were shouted and I decided after making too many mistakes I'll leave this project for now and come back when I  make things easier for myself

i I need to make a more curvy don't because those tight cuts are tuff with my hands 

I need to use softer wood

sapele was a chore and I saw why i had this stopper it had some damage on the screw part

so before I threw out this last one I cut it the shape of wine bottle and it will sit on someone's wine shelf as only a display piece 

I didn't compound this one I was done and I have way too much family coming over shortly to start my day off aggravated
