heppnerguy Posted July 6, 2013 Report Posted July 6, 2013 I need some help here. I am learning Ink Scape and I have to say that I am doing pretty well, if I might say so, myself, but I have run into a problem that I am sure has a simple solution, so I am asking for help with this. I have made a couple of different patterns and I now wish to combine the two patterns and work into a final pattern. I am unable to figure how to get both patterns on the same work page. Every time I try to open a second pattern into my already open working page, it just opens a separate page. Can someone help me here ? Quote

bobscroll Posted July 7, 2013 Report Posted July 7, 2013 Hi Heppnerguy, You say two patterns!, Can you explain what your problem is a bit clearer, I don't understand two pages?, Bob Quote
Travis Posted July 8, 2013 Report Posted July 8, 2013 Select your pattern that you want to copy. Press Ctrl+C to copy it to your clip board. In your other document, press Ctrl+V to paste it into your other project. Let me know if you're still having troubles. jrpeteo 1 Quote
heppnerguy Posted July 10, 2013 Author Report Posted July 10, 2013 I had designed 2 different patterns and i tried to bring up both of them into the same page but Inkscape always just opened a brand new work space with only the new pattern i opened. I could not get both images to open on the same page so that I could incorporate them as one pattern to work with. I took Multitom's suggestion, even though it was dealing with a different program adn understood that I needed to go to the 'layers' format and it worked for me. thanks for that tip, it worked for me. And thanks Travis... I will also try your suggestion and see if that helps. Bob, I know you are aware of all the trouble s that I have with patterns, but I really am doing a lot better now..thanks for all your patience with me Quote
