smitty0312 Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 Can anybody covert this into a pattern? Any help is well appreciated. Thankyou Quote
heppnerguy Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 Dan, As you probably already know, I am not a pattern maker nor do I pretend to be. I am, however trying to learn. I thought it would be fun and challenging to attempt to make a pattern from you photo. the car is quite nice in the photo. I do not know how to make islands nor fill in the areas that should be black, yet. I posted my efforts and they show on the 'home' page. I am doing this because I thought that if I made a pattern and then looked at the ones that someone else with experience sends for you to cut. I could compare mine and hopefully obtain a little knowledge for my next feeble attempt at making patterns. I have not tried to post an attachment before so I am not even sure if it will come across. but I do know that you can find in on the icons on the home page. thanks for letting me try. heppnerguy Quote
DonR Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 Heppnerguy, That is a great start on the pattern. There is a pretty good tutorial here http://www.scrollsawer.com/forum/scroll-saw-design-tutorials/17249.htm If you need further help, holler. Don R Quote
Birchbark Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 There are to many out there, if this picture was taken of your own car, that might be different. Support a pattern maker and you'll have it forever, to sell as many cuttings as you like. Russell Quote
multitom Posted August 16, 2013 Report Posted August 16, 2013 Richard, excellent start! It is no rocket science, follow the tutorial which Don suggested and practice,it wont be long before we start seeing your attempts and no matter what you come up with please post it so that our seniors can show what needs to be done to improve further, in the process you learn a few tricks. Very nice . Keep it up! Quote
